A Journey of Becoming with The Flower Moon in an Autumn Sky

Full Flower Moon glowing in Australia symbolising abundance, reflection and seasonal transition

April opened with the Pink Moon—soft, subtle, and lingering like a whisper across the sky. It was a gentle beginning; a quiet stirring of the soul. Here in Australia, that whisper didn’t arrive amidst the bright, frantic bloom of spring. Instead, it arrived wrapped in the golden, grounding embrace of autumn. The mornings have grown cooler, the sunsets slower, and the leaves have begun their graceful descent. The earth is exhaling after the vibrant fullness of summer. There is something deeply sacred about this contrast: while the Northern Hemisphere awakens outwardly, we are being invited to turn inward—to soften, to listen, and to feel.

The Pink Moon, named for the wildflowers that carpet the Northern Hemisphere, carries the energy of new life. In our Australian landscape, it feels different. It feels like a grounding, a returning, and a gentle turning inward. It asks us not to rush into a visible bloom, but to honour the shifting happening beneath the surface.

Just because the outer world is slowing down does not mean growth has stopped. In fact, this quietude is often where the most profound growth begins.

April became a sanctuary for intention—a month of quiet planting of seeds in the soil of self. This wasn’t the loud, visible kind of growth, but the deeply rooted kind that asks questions like:

What do I truly desire beneath the noise?

What am I ready to nurture without needing instant results?

What feels true for me when everything else falls away?

Just like the land in autumn, a shedding is taking place. We are releasing what no longer serves so that what is planted now has the space it needs to truly grow.

We now step into May, and with it comes the Flower Moon, rising in the early hours of tomorrow here in Australia. A full, luminous moon, she carries the energy of abundance, beauty, and blossoming potential. Traditionally named for the explosion of wildflowers across North America, this moon symbolises growth, fertility, and expansion. Yet, we feel her differently here in Australia. While the Northern Hemisphere is surrounded by blooming fields, we are walking through falling leaves.

In this sacred season of the Australian autumn, our bloom is not a loud or external display, but rather an internal and sacred unfolding that manifests as a deeper self-awareness, emotional maturity, and a quiet clarity with a sense of grounded expansion.

Nature is our greatest teacher, showing us that while trees release their leaves, we too are invited to release what is no longer aligned. As the earth softens, we soften; as the air cools, we finally come home to ourselves.

This Flower Moon is also a Micromoon, appearing slightly smaller in the sky. However she is anything but small, energetically and emotionally . This moon does not just illuminate; it amplifies. Everything that already exists within you—your truths, your desires and your misalignments—becomes clearer and more undeniable.

May gifts us something rare. Two full moons.

The Flower Moon opens the month, and a Blue Moon will bring May to a close it. This is a cycle within a cycle—an opening and a closing. What begins now will come full circle by the end of the month. It is an invitation to start with intention, move with awareness, and close with clarity.

The Major Themes of the Flower Full Moon highlight that this lunar phase is both potent and unapologetically revealing:

Magnetism & Personal Power: You may feel a strong pull toward specific people or unique opportunities as your energy begins to align with your true path.

Seeds Blooming: Intentions that you planted earlier in the year are finally starting to take a visible form.

Pathways Clearing: You might notice things shifting quickly or even unexpectedly, though these changes always occur with a deeper purpose.

Truth Rising: What is real and authentic within you becomes undeniable, while anything that is not begins to naturally fall away.

Alignment & Flow: What is aligned with your heart will flow and expand with ease, whereas what is out of sync will start to resist and feel heavy. Trust this clarity—it is a gift.

There is a palpable shift occurring, both personally and collectively. People are awakening, emotions are rising, and old ways are dissolving. Nature reflects this intensity—the wind feels different, and the land feels as if it is holding us with a new kind of depth. Flora is softening, fauna is adapting, and humankind is evolving.

As the luminous Flower Moon rises, it serves as a powerful amplifier for your internal world, making your truths and misalignments more visible. This is a sacred time to anchor your intentions and recognise the subtle, grounded expansion occurring within you. To support this transition, use the following affirmations to speak directly to your inner growth and align your energy with the rhythms of the earth.

Let these words of these Flower Moon Affirmations land softly, allowing them to take root in the soil of your self:

I trust myself and the timing of my life.

I bloom in my own time.

My growth is natural, grounded, and supported.

What is meant for me is already unfolding.

I release what no longer aligns with my heart.

I am worthy of the abundance and beauty I desire.

I honor the sacred stillness within my becoming.

To honor your growth in this season, I invite you into this Returning to Stillness ritual by finding a quiet corner with soft lighting to create a cocoon of calm, stepping outside to feel your feet on the grounding earth, placing your hands on your heart and belly to feel your breath as it is, and asking softly what is my body is asking for before speaking one truth that you are ready to honor and closing with gratitude for the pause.

From the Pink Moon in April to this Flower Moon in May we are walking a path of becoming. In Australia, we are reminded that blooming doesn’t always look like flowers; sometimes it looks like letting go, slowing down, and turning inward.

As this Flower Moon rises, honour your season. Trust your rhythm. You are part of this ancient, cyclical dance, and just like the earth, you are always, always becoming. 🌸✨
